The short version...I am taking a class on polling in politics, and I am trying to come up with false charges for articles of impeachment against the president based on actions of beloved Republicans.  (Trying to show most Americans are okay with anything if its the guy they elected does it)  I am trying to keep it to actual action of beloved Republican Presidents. 

E.g. Would you support impeachment proceedings against the President for... suspending Habeas Corpus to prevent possible criminal actions (Lincoln), For an invasion of acts of genocide in a small Central American nation (Reagan).  And I have a few others but I am having trouble coming up with other events in I could put in modern terms.

Lincoln's suspension of habeus corpus was not unconstitutional. Section one of the constitution creates an exception to habeus corpus: "when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it". The confederate supreme court may have ruled that the president was not allowed to do that anyway, but then they would have ruled the production of shells for use on their allies in the South to be unconstitutional
