So I got Pokemon X today, and I am all set to play it. My sister has gotten Pokemon Y.

I think I'll post my progress, city by city, in this topic.

Has anybody else got one of the games?

Update!

Santalune City - beat Gym Leader, got Exp Share.

Strategy I used; Fletchling has Peck at level 10. I used that again...and again...and again. Infestation was still hateful.

Pokemon currently in use:

Froakie LVL 13
Weedle LVL 5
Combee LVL 8
Zigzagoon LVL 5
Pidgey LVL 6
Fletchling LVL 13

I am looking to make Combee become a Vespiquen later.

Zigzagoon, insofar, has given me an Ultra Ball. Thanks, Ziggy.

I feel so left out... can't afford a 3DS or either game... while it seems that everybody else I know has it.

the kicker? I haven't really played a pokemon game since Red, Blue and Yellow.  Yeah, I'm that old-school.

So, after this, things changed a little bit. I now added a Flabebe, Skiddo and Ralts to my team, changing the dynamics significantly.

My Froakie evolved, and is now level 20. Wow, how things change so quickly.
I got a Charmander, too, forgot to mention that. It is now a Charmeleon, and is at level 16
Ralts is at level 12. I hope to get a Gardevoir.
Flabebe is also at level 12. Hoping to evolve it, and then again, with the Shiny Stone. What level should I evolve its evolved form?
Fletchling is now a Fletchinder, and is level 19. Dynamite, that one.
And Skiddo is level 13. Gogoat should be awesome.

So, thoughts on my early team. I am hoping to take the second gym leader with this bunch.

Just got to Dendemille Town tonight. Using Greninja (41), Charizard X (45), Ferrothorn (44), Tyrantrum (42), Golurk (45), and Reuniclus (42), occasionally rotating in Rhydon, Exploud, Pyroar, Aerodactyl, and Gabite. So many pokemon, so few spaces DX

Anyone want to swap Friend Codes for the Friend Safari? I've been doing it using /vp/ threads, but with my extremely limited wifi access, it's been pretty hit and miss.

Niam: That's a pretty solid team. I've heard Talonflame is a monster of a pokemon if you unlock its Gale Wings hidden ability. Automatic priority to all flying-type moves!

Yes, yes you can! To get Venipede, take the center path leading to Parfum Palace. Occasionally one of the hedges along the roadside will rustle, and Venipede will jump out at you when you walk by. You can also find Audino this way

Have X version, which once again, I will not start until I'm done with Black (and once again, I am not going to play Black 2).

But everybody's so obsessed about the X and Y versions and it's killing me... :c

Since I've finished the Elite Four, here's what I'm carrying:

Chesnaught, lvl 71
Charizard, lvl 69
Krookodile, lvl 67
Tyrantrum, lvl 67
Gardevoir, lvl 66
Tentacruel, lvl 63

Its not the best team I've built, but it gets the job done. The team I'm most proud of is my Black 2 team (Typhlosion, Samurott, Staraptor, Lucario, Galvantula, Flygon). Compared to that, my Y team is too easy to counter.
