Siella:
(Diplomacy) Siella makes little headway on finding a side job or information from the townsfolk. She does know quite a bit about the area from her recent travels, however.
(Geography and Nature)The region of Varisia is largely wilderness outside of its towns and cities, inhabited by native human groups known as the Varisians and the Shoanti. Ruins dating back tens of thousands of years establish that the advanced empire of Thassilon once ruled much of the land, but has long fallen. Nature-wise, Varisia is a cold-temperate region rich in wildlife. There are many game and herd animals such as deer, boar, moose, and bison, as well as large carnivores such as wolves (and occasionally dire wolves), mountain lions, and both black and brown bears. Orcs and ogres live throughout the land and occasionally waylay vulnerable travelers. Goblins also inhabit the wilds, but are a more minor nuisance. At least, this is how the situation has been in the past; there are now indications that the orcs and ogres are appearing less often while goblin raids are more common and successful. The larger hobgoblins, normally seen only around the Hold of Belkzen, are appearing more often, particularly near Korvosa.
Caladur:
(History) Caladur's research reveals that the Emerald Crown dates back to the Runelord period of Thassilon, after the death of the Emperor Xin and the division of the empire into seven subregions, controlled by powerful mage-kings who practiced rune-based magic. It was traditionally worn by the Runelords of Shalast who governed east-central Varisia and it was plundered in the post-Earthfall chaos during the fall of the empire. Thraine's attempts to track the Crown have traced its plunderers to the Shoanti peoples of the Bloodsworn Vale.
Lillith:
OOC: Gathering information is a skill check; this is performed by rolling 1d20+your modifier for that skill, which for gathering information would be Diplomacy. Your Diplomacy modifier is the number of ranks you have in Diplomacy plus your Charisma modifier, along with whatever other bonuses to Diplomacy your feats and traits give you.
