Tory Plans for Disabled people on benefits

Some long-term sick and disabled people face being forced to work unpaid for an unlimited amount of time or have their benefits cut under plans being drawn up by the Department for Work and Pensions.
[...]
The policy could mean that those on employment and support allowance who have been placed in the work-related activity group (Wrag) could be compelled to undertake work experience for charities, public bodies and high-street retailers. The Wrag group includes those who have been diagnosed with terminal cancer but have more than six months to live; accident and stroke victims; and some of those with mental health issues.

In official notes from a meeting on 1 December last year, DWP advisers revealed they were not intending to put a time limit on the work experience placements.

Excuse me, I'm going to go and be sick.

Are they serious? >:( Talk about totally sick. Maybe we should force them to be disabled and have them work unpaid. Let's see how they like it.

Yes, because someone with terminal cancer really have the strength to do work. I'm shocked the GOP over here hasn't tried to do the same.

Yeah, but  I think he wanted each state to handle the disabled in their own way, if  he's anything like daddy who's in love with everything being handed at the state level. I've hearld similiar stuff come out of the mouths of the GOP, but nothing at the level of forcing those with terminal cancer to do work.

Like hell they would. You want to know a definition of fun? Being a 30-year-old autistic with few job skills who's too educated for free work training programmes, too socially inept to work retail, too physically weak and inept to work in the trades or mines or army, unable to work more than 14 hours a week or she loses the payment which makes a difference between something resembling a life and subsistence survival, and is about to spend another four years at university after studying part-time since 2000 in the hopes she can get IT skills and somehow start her own business.

And I consider myself lucky compared to those poor sods with massive issues. I might one day get a job.

Just... screw you and thank the gods I don't live in England.

Yes, let's make all those lazy people medically unfit to work for a living work anyway. I mean, it's not like these programs exist specifically to let the medically disabled survive or anything.
