Six Nations 2016

Looks good.  The various ginger subspecies firmly back where they belong, the championship secured and a final march on Paris to complete the Grand Slam next weekend.

So what did we learn this weekend?

1. Wales are overhyped rubbish.  For 65 minutes England beat the living shit out of them in every department (including the scrum and the breakdown, lol).  The welsh apparently are quite good once they have fresh players coming off the bench and a man advantage though.  Maybe we should change the rules so other teams can only have 14 players...

2. Scotland are more dim than perfidious.  I was half worried that the Scots would roll over and let the French pile on a massive score, since a French win in both their remaining games and a 60 point swing would keep England from the title.  Maybe the Arch-gingers are worried about finishing below Italy (again) and getting booted out of the tournament to be replaced by a better side from somewhere in eastern europe or something.

3. England have found some backs who can actually offload, finally.  Oh and Maro Itoje is a total beast.

Wow England looking good after getting an Australian Coach. What a surprise. If they get Jake White to coach them next, who knows they might just make the quarter finals of the World Cup.

As it is none of these teams make the semi-finals of the world cup.

It may actually be a small mercy that we didn't beat Australia this time, given that they went crying to the IRB to get them to change the rules when we beat them in 2003 and 2007.

It's quite ironic, really.  Lose a world cup final off the boot of Johnny Wilkinson and almost immediately go running to the rulemakers with "suggestions including reducing the number of points awarded for a drop goal"...LOL

Not quite as funny as 2007, when your pack got totally emasculated by the English scrum for 80 minutes, then *as if by magic* there's proposals on the table to "depower the scrum".

Predictable and a bit pathetic, really.  At least when we lose, we accept it for what it is...

Sorry you didn't just lose to Australia. You didn't make it out of the Pool Stage. At the World Cup which you hosted.

You sound like Danny Cipriani, what was it? Not one Australian would make the English side?

Not out of the Pool stages. You know what's pathetic, crowing about winning the 6 nations. When not one of them is good enough to make the semi-finals. Although I guess it's a great turn around from ranking next to Italy in the World Cup.

Amazing what an Australian coach can do isn't it?

Then again you would probably want to go back to Arnold Rimmer coaching your team and losing.

England, when it comes to sports, does three things:

1. Invent them.

2. Export them.

3. Lose at them.

Derp.

You're posting in a rugby thread.  England are the current Grand Slam champions of the six nations and we've just beaten the filthy convicts in their own back yard, proving twice more that Australia bought their scrum from ikea.

:)

It's true in a broader context.

You haven't made the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup since 1990--couldn't even make the finals in 1994 and conceded the quickest goal in World Cup history, to San Marino of all countries, in doing so.

You couldn't even advance out of the group stage of the last Rugby World Cup, which you were hosting.

You've never won the Cricket World Cup and only last made the semi-finals in 1992.

Your current best tennis player is actually Scottish.

And badminton is mostly dominated by East Asians.
