Today I experienced a rare instance of karma working the way it should. On the way to work this morning, some kid on the bus was freaking out because he had accidentally dropped his bus pass into the coin/ticket slot (the passes only need to be shown to the bus driver), and was told he wouldn't be able to get it back until either tomorrow or Friday since the drivers can't open the money box thingie. I felt bad for the kid, so I gave him one of my tickets (out of a book of ten) so he would be able to take the bus home from school in the afternoon.
A little while ago, as I was about to finish work, I got a call from my roommate saying she was off early and could swing by to give me a ride home, saving me from having to use a bus ticket to get back here. Karma! Or, more realistically, a happy coincidence, but either way, it's nice to see things even out -- those tickets aren't exactly cheap, after all.
