I don't remember getting it the vaccine, and my mother is the type to never skip a vaccine. I know I had the chicken pox, still have the scar on my stomach from getting it.
It is a relatively new one.  In taht case make sure you get shingles vaccine when you can

I'd punch them, but I over-exercised and my arms hurt enough. So, I'd kick them

I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

I had civics in middle school...7th grade, I think.  I also took US Government in high school.

Unless AR is actually doing something RIGHT, for a change.  Which, I guess, is technically possible...just not probable.

I had it too, but I don't think it's required in most areas. That being said, judging from my experience it should be better taught, along with most of public education in this country.

Hell yes it can be taught better. That's actually one of the reasons I want to be a teacher. If fundie parents don't like what I teach, well sucks to be them

I had "US Government," probably in 11th or 12th grade. Again, I'd have to say that the history department in Bellefonte was surprisingly good. Could they maybe have taught more things? I suppose, but they got the 3 branches of government, the powers of each, certain landmark supreme court cases, the Constitution, the significance of each section, each amendment, how they've been interpreted by the supreme court, the development of the political party system, tricks that politicians tend to use to stack the decks in their favor, & even assisted with voter registration, if you were 18 or over. I'd say that's pretty damn good just for a general overview of how government works, & the internet constantly reminds me that I learned things that most people don't. A lot of this was also covered at certain points in "social studies," during middle school.

I had US government in 11th grade (although it was normally 10th grade - my schedule was weird). It was pretty good - we had an excellent textbook. We also got a chance to serve as mock jurors for a trial at the University of Washington Law School.
