Culture at Goldman Sachs

"Why I am Leaving Goldman Sachs"
Quote
To put the problem in the simplest terms, the interests of the client continue to be sidelined in the way the firm operates and thinks about making money. Goldman Sachs is one of the world’s largest and most important investment banks and it is too integral to global finance to continue to act this way. The firm has veered so far from the place I joined right out of college that I can no longer in good conscience say that I identify with what it stands for.

The opinion this guy has about the culture in Goldman Sachs today mirrors what I've heard from the finance-oriented people I know. Maybe people think it's obvious that there are lots of scummy bankers, but having evidence is nice.
You mad, you lose.

People do not like to think. If one thinks, one must reach conclusions. Conclusions are not always pleasant.

Yeah, considering I'm in the banking sector, my response has been "what the fuck did you expect"?

The only thing I would probably care about as an investment bank is, "Do my clients think I'm giving them the best return they can possibly have"? Show me a survey of whether the editorial has negatively impacted that statistic.

Unscrupulous financiers? What next, dishonest politicians?
I am an old man, and I've seen many problems, most of which never happened.

Found this. I'm sure many posters will appreciate it, especially Nickiknack. Although, to be honest, I felt the story could work better with other references, but it still made me laugh.
