Georgia high school still segregates

Long story short, there's a school in Georgia that is continuing with segregated proms and some high schoolers are campaigning to fix it.

If I'm not mistaken, that's the same school that's been trying to pull that crap in the past.  If it IS them, I can't believe they're still trying after the attention they've gotten in the past.

I think that still happens fairly often.

There's a documentary about a high school in Morgan Freeman's town that had its first integrated prom in 2008 after he promised to personally pay for it.  Apparently, he first made the offer in 1997 and they refused.

I've heard that the kids trying to fix it have had their posters ripped down repeatedly and that the staff are pretty much just pretending they don't exist.  I'm sorry I didn't realize why were still living in 1963.

I hope you're just being tongue-in-cheek with that statement, because as a lifelong resident, there are scores of things worthwhile in GA.  Many good colleges, great hospitals (not to mention a top-tier teaching hospital or two), the Centers for Disease Control, National Forests, and that's just immediately what comes to my mind.  It's not just a bunch of hillbillies twangin' banjos down here.  Even though I joke sometimes about that stereotype.

If you are just taking the piss then forget I said anything.  I just don't think there's any state that's worthless.   

Not even Oklahoma.

I actually liked Georgia all the times I visited there, especially Plains.

Basically. As another Georgia resident I might complain about being cut off from civilization sometimes and such but it isn't so bad here. Each state has its negatives and positives man.
