Well the authorities said that they didn't need to provide her the information if she asked them to, not that she wasn't allowed to find the information herself.
Which, if the folks at the poll won’t tell you, would require going back home and looking it up at the very least. If you don’t have online access or your municipality’s online resources suck, then you probably have to go to city hall to find out. If the polling place is going to exercise this “right” to not tell you, they probably won’t have easy to read maps available either.
The maps are another thing. Not everyone can read a map. Maybe they just don’t know how. Maybe they have some sort of cognitive or learning disability that prevents them from doing so. Maybe the person is blind. But forcing someone to use a map when you could easily tell that person is a good way to disenfranchise that person.
Why wouldn’t you want the people in charge of managing the elections to help people actually vote?
