God help them.  If anyone asked me for my Facebook password, I would punch and kick them in the nuts right then and there, in no particular order.

...or even just say you don't have a Facebook account. What can they do, realistically? If your profile is vague enough (no address, occupation etc.) then they probably can't definitively prove it's you.

I just found this that I thought was quite interesting.

"Volunteering is coercion if you need a job," Andrews said.

Sums up my views on this quite nicely.

My reply would be: "My password is gofuckyourself."

and in all but 11 states they can then fire you.
OF course if they are looking at your FB page they are probably looking for a reason to fire you.
seems a catch 22

I'm not sure how this is handled in other stores, but where I work that would merely turn into a 3 month probation period.

Not giving away your password is basic security protocol. No company should trust an employee with important or sensitive information if they are stupid enough to give up their Facebook password.

Um. Fuck that shit. I'd straight up lie and say I ain't got one but my name is unique enough that if they search me they'd find me.

Fortunately, my field is one that would take password hygiene seriously enough that I could maybe get points for pointing that out.

Good thing I don't have a Facebook.

But do you think they would believe you when you told them. I am sure companies that pull this sort of shenanigan would expect applicants to lie about that.

They ask you to login from a computer there so they can see your account. They don't ask for the password.
