Movie/Book Game
« on: September 02, 2012, 11:03:46 am »
So you wake up in the world/setting of the last movie you watched or book you read.  How screwed are you?

Last movie I watched was The Mummy last night.  I think I could be pretty screwed.....  hopefully Bredan Fraiser will be able to save the day like in the movie again.....lol

What a shame. What a rotten way to die.

Edit: Wait, whoops, I misread the topic and assumed games were in too. Though...

Movie:  Apparently Gotham has been taken over by terrorists making a mockery of the Occupy movement.  Also, nukes.

Book:  I'd be pretty much screwed if the Dark Slayers came after me.  But at least it's post-Riftwar, so no surprise attacks by Tsurani warriors.

Movie: John Carter of Mars

Most likely, I'd just be a peon in the war. That's OK, the energy weapons are cool. Unless I became one of the 4-armed creatures. I'd probably be thrown in the pit to be eaten by a "white ape."

Book: Proximity: A Novel of the Navy's Elite Bomb Squad

Hoo-YAH! Yes, I would happily take on the role of Navy EOD.

I guess I have to choose between hiding from aliens invading New York (movie: Avengers) or fighting or hiding from the Soviet troops occupying Estonia (book: Purge by Sofi Oksanen). I guess I'd be less screwed in the first case since there'd be super heroes on my side and I wouldn't have to live through decades of oppression if I survived.

Game: Stuck in Pre WW2 to WW2 France. James Dunnigan states that an infantryman had a 2/3 chance of becoming a casualty during the 20th century, so things look pretty bleak. At least I'm not in the Red Army. (HOI3)

Movie: Palin expy as president and Nazis from the moon. They mostly attack America IIRC, so I'll be fine. (Iron Sky)

Movie:  I'm stuck in a claymation pirates world.  I'm okay with this.

Book:  PONIES!
There is light and darkness in the world, to be sure.  However, there's no harm to be had in walking in the shade or shadows.

The War is all fun and games until the Emperor's main dragon cuts your hand off, and then claims to be your dad(WTF is up with that?)or you get frozen in carbonite,or you drop the ball , letting rebel scum get away and end up getting forced choked. I can't wait until you watch ROTJ.

True, I'm better off smuggling and meeting beings from other planets (in so many ways).

You think that's bad?  My wife and I just started a collection of horror movies to watch before Halloween.  This is a guess, but from least to most screwed;

Jaws 2
Duel
The Mothman Prophecies
Dead Silence
Event Horizon
Insidious.
