Catholic priest caught with kiddie porn trove

W. Thomas Faucher, a retired Catholic priest in Idaho, was caught with a trove of child pornography and chat logs in which he discussed his desire to "rape and kill children." He also had a drug cache containing marijuana, ecstasy, and LSD.

At least the Diocese of Boise appears to be taking this seriously (or at least more seriously than other dioceses have in the past) and not contributing toward his legal defense or the bond he posted for his release pending trial. It does make me wonder if other priests or bishops in the diocese might have known about Fr. Faucher's proclivities, though--I refuse to afford the Catholic Church any benefit of the doubt in these cases any more.
