SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — Florida authorities say George Zimmerman, whose acquittal of murdering an unarmed black teen sparked a national debate on race and self-defense laws, has been arrested on an aggravated assault charge.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office says the 31-year-old Zimmerman was arrested in Lake Mary about 10 p.m. Friday and is being held at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility. The facility's website says Zimmerman is scheduled for a court appearance at 9 a.m. Saturday.
No further details were released. A message seeking further information was left Saturday morning by The Associated Press with Seminole County Sheriff officials.
Can't say I'm surprised.

Chitoryu, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the first time he's been actually arrested and held in jail since the trial. The previous two were alleged domestic abuse/threat incidents, nobody pressed charges, and he wasn't arrested or jailed. Maybe this time he's going down, at last.

Some right-wingers like him. But there are a lot of others who don't.
But anyway, I'm just happy to see that he's finally going down. I don't know if he's a racist or not, but I have no doubt that he's a violent brute.

Once he goes to prison, they'll need a whole alone wing for him. Because I bet that the general prison population will be more than happy to execute him.

I'd love to see him actually spend some time in jail. Of course, the amount of time he'll receive for this offense won't be nearly what he deserves for the original murder, but whatever. He's a violent repeat offender who needs to be locked away.
