He was a hero.  There is no other word to describe a man that fought behind enemy lines on D-day, was one of the Battered Bastards of Bastogne, won a Silver Star and Purple Heart, convicted Sirhan Sirhan, and then served on the 2nd District Court of Appeal for twenty years.
