Now here's an Independence Day story that brings tear to your eye. We are now so broke that we're selling advertising space on police cars, schools, various bits of city property (like manholes), and some places have even attempted to sell off or have landmarks sponsored to reduce costs. I'm so glad we've finally embraced our willingness/need to sell things we once held sacred just to make ends meet. The fact that corporations benefit from the endeavor as well lets me know that America is just how God intended: a capitalist paradise where the rich get richer and the poor.... well, we just don't think about them all that much.
