The 53 Dirty Band Names You Can't Say on Radio
« on: February 08, 2013, 12:48:17 pm »
Well, at least on the heavy metal radio station for Seton Hall University, a Roman Catholic school. Any band names that include "God", "Satan", "Jesus" or portray the Catholic Church in a negative light are prohibited from being said on the air, according to a notice on their employee bulletin board. So the question is, how many of these bands do you listen to? I only have two. Satan is disappoint.

What, Godsmack is okay?  Judas Priest?  And don't you just love the names at the bottom that will result in immediate termination of those that should utter them?

I can understand why most of them can't be mentioned on the air, but I have to ask; is this a joke?  The aforementioned list of names at the bottom makes me think it is.

Maybe the last ones were added as a joke, I don't know. But I'll be honest with you, I think mentioning Bieber should be a fireable offense.

Yeah, well, that's true.  But still...

I expected them to be more inconsistent and allow something like "Satan Dethroned."

The names are good for a giggle.  Surely all these groups haven't made commercially-available recordings.

Cannibal Corpse, Cradle of Filth and Puscifer are legitimately successful bands. I judge this by the fact that I've heard their names many times, even though I don't really listen to that kind of music much.

And the Crucifucks were a popular underground (is that an oxymoron?) punk rock band from the '80s.

I take it that Atomic Flamethrowing Vagina is right out, then?
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.
