I would rather have the type of frills that some lizards have so that I could signal people "KEEP THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME NOW!" when necessary.

That'd be the main reason, yeah.

Though being able to buy cat ears with the excuse that "no, I just got them to investigate the brain interface, it's not like I think they are adorable or anything" is also pretty good.
