Another kid dead...
« on: January 24, 2013, 09:19:31 pm »
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2013/01/24/toronto-brampton-shooting.html

No, Canada's not immune to shooting deaths of children.

Quote
Kesean Williams was shot Wednesday night while sitting in the living room of a townhouse in Brampton, Ont., about 40 kilometres northwest of Toronto, where he lived with his mother and brother.

Peel Regional Police said Kesean was sitting with his 15-year-old brother when a bullet — probably a single shot — "came from outside the window." It struck the child in the head.

...

Kesean was rushed to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children but died of his wounds.

And apparently police think the shooting might have been targeted, something to do with the house's previous owners, which just makes me wonder, "What the hell?"

It doesn't concern you, Sister, that kind of absolutist view of the universe? Right and wrong determined solely by a single all-knowing, all powerful being whose judgment cannot be questioned and in whose name the most horrendous acts can be sanctioned without appeal?

Being required by someone else’s religious beliefs to behave contrary to one’s sexual identity is degrading and disrespectful.

But.....Canada's gun laws are even stricter than ours! Shouldn't they be like, immune to any danger from firearms whatsoever?
Still can't think of a signature a year later.

The gun laws are tight, but our boarder guards are a joke.

Heh.

But yeah, some of the guns used in these sorts of things are brought in from the US. No idea whether this one was, of course, but that does happen.

Supposedly, smuggled in from the U.S. happens a lot, but a quick Google search didn't pop up any good sources with decent meaningful hard data. Over 50% apparently.
