I'd think that, but its only affecting one eye...and, typically, pink eye affects both my eyes.  Yeah, I've gotten it before.  Multiple times.

Maybe the other eye is just being lazy about its infection.  Decided to sleep in... with its eye open.

The stupid process of when someone wants to make a payment on their JCP Rewards card. The register never reads the Bank # & the account # on the check when you put it in. One always has type the #'s in manually. The thing that bothers me is that there's no way to skip straight to the manual part, and it's just a waste of time.

People who get on my case for being "close-minded" by not listening to many different styles of music. Alternatively, people who claim to like "every kind" of music. They're both full of shit.
For the first one: I mostly have metal, rock, and punk on my computer because that's what I prefer to listen to. Since I've had to find most of the music I enjoy on my own, that is, without anyone else's influence or suggestion, until college (3yrs ago), a lot of that music happens to be less than 20yrs old. Usually, this means taking a lot of crap for not listening to Zeppelin, The Beatles, Sabbath, Hendrix, or any of the other huge musicians from the 80s back. Combine this with the fact that I'm just not a fan of classic rock and can't stand jazz, and damn near every person I talk to invariably says I haven't tried "Band X" enough if I don't like listening to them, especially in regards to the "classics". Not everyone is going to live like the 80s is the best thing that ever happened to music, and just because a ton of bands claim Zeppelin as an influence doesn't mean I'm necessarily going to like them if I've heard those bands first. What was innovative then is not innovative now, so working backwards as I've had to tends to skew things in that regard. If that analogy doesn't work, take any 13yr old and give him a 56k modem, and see what he thinks about dial-up; the internet today wouldn't exist without it, but that doesn't mean it's something that needs to be revered by everyone.

As to the second point, those are usually the people who are worst about rant #1. And I say this mostly because "everything" tends to mean "rock, indie, jazz, and metal up until Metallica's Black Album because screaming scares me". Guess what, princess, you take a style of music founded on the blues, then covered in a nice coat of anti-establishment thinking, and it will invariably find ways to offend your radio friendly ears. Stop pretending like you like all kinds of music and just admit that you're only saying that to pretend like you're open minded. I can listen to just about any kind of music if it's playing at a restaurant, or I'm watching a live performance, but that doesn't mean that I want my personal playlist to go from death metal to reggae when I hit shuffle.

Her3tik, you have groupies.

There are a number of ways, though my favourite is simply to take them by surprise. They're just walking down the street, minding their own business when suddenly, WHACK! Penis to the face.

Music snobs in general are annoying, particularly those who look down upon you for daring to like a mainstream band.

This.
That may be the single gayest thing I have ever read on this board. Or the old one. ;)

On the flip side, there are the people who will call you a music snob simply for not liking mainstream music.

I've generally moved away from even wanting to talk music anywhere. Because I've had people deride me for liking swing music as well as metal and rock and some rap.

I've also had people deride me for liking Van Canto and Kaledon as well as other metal bands. Yet, I've had people give thumbs up to Dragonforce (who I like too). Sometimes in the same damn sentence.

What annoys me really: my headache. Again.

Something that really annoys me: job hunting. Every day I don't search for a job, I feel like a loser who is complacent with her current dead-end, part-time, job. Then when I apply, I see all the requirements and qualifications and feel like I'm about to have a panic attack because they want X amount of experience and work which I don't possess (I've only had one once and it wasn't bad, I kind of enjoyed it, but as it relates to job hunting is worse). Finally, all the careers I look at want a cover letter and that just makes me feel like an idiot because I can write 30 page discourses about how Rousseau's civic republicanism relates to Marxist thought, but I can't write a freaking 3 paragraph statement about why I would be a good candidate for the job. Then to add insult to injury, I've been searching for 3 months, so a lot of rejection has to have occured :(. Seriously, I can learn everything in school EXCEPT how to write a cover letter, resume, and do well in a job interview.

Sorry, I know I've been bitching about jobs for a while and I just spent the last two hours applying at various places so I needed to vent. I feel a little better now  :-\

If you need some good examples of what a cover letter should look like here are some great examples of cover letters. You should make a list of you're accomplishments. I hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the site, I'm looking over it now and it looks very helpful. I plan to apply to some more places tomorrow and Thursday, so we'll see how it goes  :)

Plus, any decent MP3 player has the ability to sort by genre.

This morning, late at night before I went to bed, I spent 10 minutes in anguish wondering why the fuck my linux script was bombing. I forgot a forward-slash. Yeah, this asshole: "/". ONE. And it fucked over the whole setup.
