The South China Sea warmongering and posturing has been going on for a while now and as China seems unwilling to accept that they can't just claim to control a sea and move international boundaries even if international laws and other countries deny it a war may be approaching...
Obama at least tried to be diplomatic but Trump broke the "One China" policy and has publicly insulted China so at this point we are in a situation where one wrong move can move this conflict beyond the point of no return.
I know that there are a lot of jokes about how Trump could nuke someone after he throws a temper tantrum but let's remember that if China tries to avoid a conflict by appeasing him it will make them look weak and that is not acceptable for a country that sees itself as a world power. More than Trump starting a war for petty reasons he is a threat because he makes it so much harder to back off from the threat of war.
