This is coming out of nowhere, but:
CIRCLE LENSES.
They're a kind of contact lens--usually coloured--that are especially popular among young Asian women. They're a good third or half again bigger than the actual iris of the eye and make it look much bigger, which is considered beautiful (or, like, totarry kawaiiiiiiiii desuuu ~~~ !!**) in a lot of Asia. You also find some weeaboo girls and wannabe western idols wearing them, as well. I'm not especially fond of coloured contact lenses on anybody, anyway, outside of cosplay, but circle lenses add this additional dimension of weird creepiness to it. Bonus fail points abound for girls who insist that they're NOT wearing contacts when they very clearly are.
**EDIT: I'm not intending to be racist or mock Japan or Japanese accents. I'm making fun of obnoxious Japanophiles who feel the need to talk in fake Japanese accents and call everything 'kawaii' and say 'desu' all the time.
