You don't see anyone walking about during a flyover because Atlanta has the densest urban forest canopy of any city in North America, equivalent to Seattle WA, but wayyyyy larger. Atlanta has, also, the largest city limits - city council boundaries, to you Brits - that is Not a merged county/city (such as Miami Dade, FL) in the country.

And of course, Piedmont Park in Midtown the middle business district...designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, who also designed Central Park in New York.

Actually, what's really sad is that...some of the artwork, in and of itself, is fairly good.  Kinda like the dudes who do some of the Chick Tracts: decent talent being put to poor use.

Well, I wish I could post, "Said no LGBT protester ever". But racial bigotry occurs in the LGBT communities at probably similar rates as it does in all other demographics. So, yeah, can't use the word, "ever".

As far as I can tell most of it was construed from the higher rates of religious affiliation among the black communities in some of the areas that voted various laws into place(or down in cali). It's a political wedge the republicans bleated for quite some time. But yeah, there's no counting out that at least one raging asshole who happens to be gay had blamed it on the black community.

Though there is also the business where people compare the current movement to the civil rights movements, when it really, really isn't. It's a movement for rights, but there was a whole lot more on the table in 'the' civil rights movement including far greater hurdles and activism. The only solid theme is a minority group pushing for what they believe to be their rights, the magnitudes are completely different. That pisses off a lot of people, on either side, either when the comparison is made or when it's smacked around.
