To be quite honest, it wouldn't surprise me if every organisation engaging in the sort of work the SPLC does--of whatever ideological bent--suffers from the problems and hypocrisy identified in the articles.

You know, I'm thinking about writing some kind of article satirizing this sort of thing. Like Klan leaders getting accused of being anti-racist, or Return of Kings writers getting in trouble for being respectful to women.
