Well, the people in that community do have a bias against straight male characters... (For a reason. From what I was told while I was still involved, the ratio of skeevy dudebro E-RPers to non-skeevy non-dudebros in people with male OCs is... skewed.)

Oh, believe me, I know. I think Daichi and Akira are probably the only male OCs around I actually like, honestly, but I think a big part of it is also because people love to ship, and shipping canon characters is always preferred for obvious reasons, and all the canon characters (except for Rinnosuke who, humorously enough, is often asexual in RP) are female.

But it's like you say, a lot of the male OCs (like Diesel or, shudder, Scraps) are pretty much just here to hook up with the hot 2hu girls and overpower them with his manliness. There's even a name for it in the RP community: "lost in Gensokyo with sword".

...I'll shut up about my fandom wanking now.

I did a Google Image search for "Darth Sanders". That's what showed up. I don't care who made it, or for what reason, it's funny. (And anyway, I like Sanders, and I don't think I can really laugh at pictures mocking Trump, Cruz and Rubio if I can't also laugh at ones mocking Sanders.)
