The idea that a person has to choose whether they like things produced by a scientists working for a privately-owned bureaucracy or the same scientists working for a publicly-owned bureaucracy is literally juvenile. School children can see through that nonsense. And yet it is these sub-children that largely decide which direction public policy will take (the educated are largely dismissed).
In many ways, conservatives are the sheep in Animal Farm. Their leaders have instructed them that two legs bad; private enterprise good. Ignorant, vicious dupes deliberately misusing the vast opportunities offered them.
