*snip*

They may take our crap, but they'll never.  TAKE.  OUR KITTIES!

*Holds up one of my cats*  "From my cold, dead hands!"

*shoots The Doctor in the face*

*takes the kitty from his cold dead hands and runs away* MWAHAHAHA!!!

Wait.... I just realised that zombies and vampires could not use that phrase without sounding silly.

"From my cold dead hands!" "Ok." "Wha-" "Your hands feel pretty cold Nosferatu..." *Running off with the gun kitty while giggling*
No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:
"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
Aww, you guys rock. :)  I feel the love... and the pitchforks and torches.  Tingly!

Ok I'll take a shot.

For one these bulbs last several times longer and use less electricity.

Which means they will cost the poor LESS leaving more money for food in the long run.

Which is good since cons keep cutting food stamps.

Yeah... Don't take into account the bulbs pretty much pay for themselves (and then some) in their length of life, as well as the amount of energy they use.

The only problem is the mercury content of them.

Actually no, look into what George Bush signed back in 2007.

Edit: so I was looking back to a post from Liberal Logic 101 that my friend liked that argued in favor of an economic system where everyone works, and the comments responded that it sounded like communism. Looks like it was removed to avoid some backlash, but I did find this from a while ago.

I dunno about you, but those energy saving lightbulbs are lucky to last us a few months.

whereas ours last three or four years, minimum.  Our sockets are just crappy.
There is light and darkness in the world, to be sure.  However, there's no harm to be had in walking in the shade or shadows.

Are they still phasing out the incandescent bulbs, or did they change their minds about that?

This is what I meant

Quote
The Lighting Efficiency Mandate will phase out the use of standard incandescent light bulbs by 2014 and improve lighting efficiency by more than 70 percent by 2020.

You may find it cheaper to buy a dimmable LED lamp bulb - under 20 bucks. And plug that lamp cord into a surge suppresser socket strip to save the LED from fritzing out.

The only catch being that you have to have the money for the initial outlay which can be problematic if you are living on the edge already.

Of course, my initial reaction was "since when do you give a fuck about the poor anyway?" As we all know, the answer is they don't, they just don't want to spend money on bulbs themselves, economic efficiency be damned.

So I checked back to Liberal Logic 101 if they still have the post and image and lo and behold, it's gone.
