Last week I saw Down and Saint Vitus live at Best Buy Theater in Midtown Manhattan.  Fucking great show, and Phil Anselmo was funny as hell on stage (despite his reputation as an arrogant bastard).

Last night I saw Anthrax, Testament, and Death Angel at Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ.  You can view Anthrax's whole set on YouTube here.  All three bands were excellent, and at the end of the show Mark Teixeira of the New York Yankees got onstage with Anthrax.  Truly one of the more unusual things I've seen at a metal concert.

Saw Kamelot when they opened for Nightwish a week and a half ago. I left partway through Nightwish for a few reasons, mostly because I'm just not really into them, but Kamelot was FUCKING AWESOME.

Sorry for semi-necroing but in my defence it is relevant, because Nightwish - with interim lead singer Floor Jansen - were just absolutely fucking brilliant last night. Brill. Ee. Ant.
