Alice Cooper and Iron Maiden in Milwaukee on the 4th of July. Kinda ironic to see a bunch of British dudes being awesome on America's Independence Day. Meh, I never did like the celebration of nationalism that unfortunately comes with the explosions and grill outs on that day.
Anyway, the show was great. I missed half of Alice's set due to it taking longer to get to Summerfest than planned, but what I heard was great and Maiden was even better. And, dear god, Bruce never fucking settles down. He's darting from one side of the stage to the other, harassing the rest of the band and running around on the upper platform that I swear had to be there to keep him from climbing on top of the amps. Only downside: We only got one animatronic Eddie because the stage was too small to fit the other two. However, we did get a full moon that came into view during "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son," so nature decided to give us a hand.
Before that, I saw The Protomen in Kansas City on May 31 and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. The performance was great, the band members' interaction is hilarious (we almost lost Commander when he found out that Danzig was apparently in town and Murphy yelled at Panther for changing the set.... twice!). After the show, the band stuck around and hung out with the fans and a couple other fans got Panther to yell at their friend over the phone for not showing up.
