Personally, I think racial pride of any kind is dumb, but I don't think people should be demonized just for having pride in their ethnicity.

And while they may not need one, I don't think we should automatically assume that "white pride" people are racist.  Then again, maybe that's just the egalitarian in me talking.

2nd. pride in being white is tainted and frankly should stay that way (look the whole we're white and proud movements always end up awfuly.  Also at least in AMERICA if you are feeling sad for being white well your problems would be 10xworse if you were black

I'd wager that the person who wrote that comic was not, in fact, from Zimbabwe. Indeed, I'd even go as far as say they are most likely from a white-majority country, with decent odds on the US. "White pride", specifically in the United States and I suspect also in other white-majority countries, is mostly a slogan used by white supremacists, neo-nazis, and their ilk. Them, and people who think they are terribly clever by ignoring the historical context of the terms "black pride" and "white pride" and treating them as if in a cultural vacuum.

It's not a stretch to infer that a person repeating a phrase used disproportionately by racists is also racist.

There's a difference between pride in one's own ethnicity (i.e., "Irish Pride"), which is fine as long as it doesn't degenerate into mindless nationalism, and pride in being White, which is actually a euphemism for white supremacy and has always been used by neo-Nazis and racist groups.

(Before someone brings it up, yes, "Black Pride" is different because unlike most White people in the United States, Black Americans who are descendants of slaves sadly cannot trace their ancestry the same way. "Black Pride" is generally also used as an expression against the racist idea that Black people should be ashamed of being Black, whereas White people face no such prejudice in America.)

Seriously, there are pride festivals for several European ethnicities (St. Patrick's Day, Highland Games, Oktoberfest) that are widely celebrated and not controversial at all. The "White Pride is not racist" argument fails because there is no Grand Unified White Culture to celebrate.
