My sister and most of my female relatives would disagree violently with that mother.

... especially since one of them was a championship archer in college.  Some folks keep a baseball bat by their bed? She kept her bow and a full quiver of arrows.

I think you forget that Americans have been known to casually chat about everything from how much they hate <random stranger> while talking to other <random stranger>, to talking about what STD they contracted this time.
Mockery of ideas you don't comprehend or understand is the surest mark of unintelligence.

I know, right? You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I've heard people just talk about casually and openly in public...
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.

You're so adorable.

I was going to say something about how the US really needs to start using the metric system, and then I noticed the location.

Had a teacher tell me "go sit in the hall until lunch" for asking "what about negative numbers" when she had said "you can't have less than nothing". So, yeah, that's a pretty common thing. Later I was told its because I was "confusing the other kids by mentioning such advanced concepts".

My little brother has memorized an equation that, when graphed, forms a crude but recognizable middle finger for such an occasion. He hasn't had to use it yet, but the upperclassmen math teachers are notoriously bad so I'm sure he will.

You guys are confusing me and making me hate math even more. And I have Aspergher's Syndrome; math is supposed to be what I'm good at since I suck at social skills. What is the freakin' deal?
