I use a mod called the Courier's Stash.  Starts me off with a supremely powerful shotgun.  Thing hasn't steered me wrong yet and puts down everything from mole rats to Deathclaws.

I've seen that one. I try not to get overly powerful items, but I do love adding a ton of guns and melee weapons to the leveled lists.

In fact, I rarely download a mod that adds a typical gun and requires you to go to a specific place to hunt for it.

Well it's all part of a pack of weapons you have to hunt for on the Mojave.  And it's Courier's Cache btw.  I am an idiot.  Gives you a decent cache of weapons to go find as well as a baby quest to do that's fun as hell to particpate in and you get yourself a player home to base your adventures out of.

Ironbite-pretty damn good mod I think.

Is it only for New Vegas? Because if it works with the regular Fallout 3, I may just reinstall it to try out the mod... that sounds GREAT.
There is light and darkness in the world, to be sure.  However, there's no harm to be had in walking in the shade or shadows.

Of course there's a Alternite Starting Mod for Fallout 3.

Ironbite-look for it on the Fallout 3 Nexus

As ironbite said, there's an almost identical version for Fallout 3 as well that I believe is part of the Wanderer's Edition mod, which  is the predecessor to Project Nevada and similarly provides a large number of tweaks and added content in a modular fashion.

It's generally not a good idea to mix and match mods between the two games. While they're extremely identical, there are always at least minor differences. A simple retexture may work well with little or no tweaking, but anything involving gameplay files will likely break entirely.

I made a poem!

Honest Hearts lead to Old World Blues but after you cash in Dead Money you can walk the Lonesome Road to get where you're going.

Ironbite-neat huh?

Old World Blues lead me to walk the Lonesome Road, but Honest Hearts in a bad poker game can lead you to Dead Money.

...Heheh.

But with all that said, I am waiting to do Honest Hearts and Dead Money until I get a few more sidequests done. I have a big dislike of Dead Money so I'll probably put it off for a while. Doing Old World Blues and Lonesome Road makes it to where it's actually more enjoyable to wander the wastes (I don't have to worry about being poisoned by cazadores).

Also, my courier has really meaty arms in the Courier's Duster.

I like Dead Money, but with my realism mods I simply can't play it on Hardcore. Even though I can fight the Ghost People just fine (they now usually go down in one or two Holorifle shots), the companions are unusually weak. God/Dog, in particular, often dies in the very first battle you take him into because he simply charges in and gets swarmed. This is literally the only time I have to do this; Honest Hearts doesn't care much if your companions die and Follows-Chalk is a murder machine, Lonesome Road has a respawning companion, and Old World Blues doesn't even HAVE companions to get killed. Dead Money? They all survive, or you die.

If you ever want to be pissed, do a permadeath run of Dead Money on Hardcore with realistic damage mods. I think if you posted the LP online, it would last about an hour.

Well, what do you expect?  The Courier's probably carrying huge weights.

I have a backpack mod, a perk every level mod, and unlimited companions mod because I like having my army.

Ironbite-makes getting through the game a bit...easier.

Do you use The Backpack? It's the best out there.

It really is the best and most realistic. It actually acts as a dropable container, so you can put it down and load stuff into it. It also reduces the effective weight of any items inside it, which can help you carry a larger load. And since it has both armor and weapon forms simultaneously, it appears on your back when worn and can't be used to cheat weapons into stuff like casinos and the Sierra Madre.

It took me about 30 minutes to figure it out but I found out how to play ME2 on this computer. I had to download an older version of PhysX, because apparently they don't like it when you update that little piece of software.

What this means as well is if I want to play ME3 I will have to uninstall the current version of PhysX on this computer and install a newer version. AND THEN if I want to go back to ME2 I will then have to uninstall THAT version of PhysX and put on the version I am using now.

Wow that's a lot of work. Why this, EA?

I guess on the positive side I was able to find this out it just took a while to find the appropriate file to download. The instructions I was reading was saying I needed to download from the second disc of ME2 which I don't have the discs of. I would've been finished a lot faster if I wasn't using a digital copy.
