Uhh...remaking Evil Dead?  Without Ash or even so much as a cameo from Bruce Campbell?  Replacing him, instead, with a quote "femme fatale?"  Fuck that noise.  If it doesn't have Bruce fucking Campbell, its not Evil Dead.

Yeah, that's one I'm definitely not seeing.

Also, "Dredd" looks AWFUL from what trailers I've seen.

I'm gonna be honest, with how bad the original was, I actually want to see a remake of commando.

This is why I wouldn't be surprised if I never set foot in a cinema again.

THIS
This is one of the reasons I rarely go to the movies, too many crappy movies and lame remakes.

The U.S. movie industry serves up heaping helpings of crap, and then wonders why people would rather pirate their shit rather than purchase it or see it in theaters.

I guess it could be worse, they could be making more lame "summer blockbusters" based on comic books and children's cartoons...oh wait, they're still doing that too.

You know there's more to cinema than Hollywood, right?

But how many movie theaters show independent and foreign flims compared to the "normal" everyday stuff?? As someone who is a fan of foreign, and classic films(this includes silent films), I'm often looked as an oddball due to this love.

That's why I specifically said the "U.S. movie industry".  Plenty of interesting stuff is going on in the foreign markets, but foreign films get little exposure or distribution stateside.  I have to wonder how much of this is due to collusion among the major film distributors and the Hollywood studios.

I've actually come across quite a few well-made independent films which were produced in the US.

There is a hilarious problem with that. Eventually, the most pirated movies (with the most seeds, peers, sources, ect) will be those same crap movies. I guess free crap is better than overpriced crap. People have become so conditioned to crap because they have so little exposure to other media. Even in the digital age!
