I haven't played much new games this year, but Legend of Grimrock most certainly tops the list. One of the few times I got fully immersed in a game, staying up late to clear just one more dungeon. Jump-scares normally annoy the fuck out of me, but when it's 2 AM and a tentacle beast pops out of a grate I'm legitimately panicking. Awesome game.

I finally got my Legend of Dragoon. *sigh* Nostalgia. And it lacks a tutorial same as I remember. Then again, this was the age where we had actual, thick, game guides.

I've had Amnesia sitting on my computer for almost half a year now, but I can't play it because it keeps insisting my graphic drivers are out of date. Even when I just update them.
The game is a wonderful motion sickness simulator, I haven't been able to get far enough in to really say anything beyond that.

Yes, that was my experience as well.

Spent the GS gift card my wife got me on Darksiders II.  Now I'm juggling my time between DS II, Dishonored, WWE 13, Hitman Absolution, and Skyrim (I finally got a couple of the DLC and created a new character).  However, I mostly play Dishonored, Hitman, and Darksiders currently since I only have so many hours in the day, and I need to create minutes somewhere to work on my Star Wars fanfic.

Apparently, they're finally adding same gender romance in The Old Republic.  If I remember correctly, they promised this shortly after the release of the game.

Over 4 years since I first put it in my 360, I popped the last Achievement in ES 4: Oblivion last night. I plodded along for a while, picking up achievements as I went. I took a character I was no longer playing to the Shivering Isles, just to knock those out. At one point, I made a character specifically to do the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild. I got DB, but glitched out TG and couldn't finish it. Finally, during break between my last two semesters, I made a character who would do everything except DB, TG, and SI, and another to do DB (which I really like) and TG. It took a while, but by the end of break, the only achievements I hadn't finished were the last one in the Fighters Guild and the 3 that I had been unable to get to in the Thieves Guild. And there it sat for about a year - 4 Achievements undone.

Just before Christmas, I decided to fix that. I fired up the character who had done most everything and did the last few quests to finish the Fighters Guild. Then I fired up my sneaky and vowed to get through the Thieves Guild. I played a little each day, finishing quests a little at a time. Finally, around 10:00 last night, my 360 dinged and I became Master of the Thieves Guild.

I'm playing Morrowind and still haven't gotten used to the combat. I like the massive world, but Jesus, now I see what everyone was bitching about.

Truth be told, my problems with Morrowind extend less to the game itself and more to the sheer hype it gets -- not from gaming media, but from the gamers who play it.

Morrowind I like.  It's still far more overhyped than it needs to be.

I... actually consider Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim to be all around the same point in quality, based on various limitations (though I will say Morrowind's character designs are a bit dated -- everybody looks ugly.  Everybody.)

I'm trying to 100% Vice City and I have to say, what the fuck were they thinking with the vehicle side missions? The paramedic missions are tedious and drawn out enough as is, but they'd be at least bearable if you could listen to the radio in an ambulance, but not only is that not possible, it's also hard coded into the game, so it can't be changed via a mod.

Ah well, at least it's done now. The worst is most definitely over.

If ya ever get the desire to play around a bit with mods, might I suggest the Feed The Beast modpack?  Its -kinda- like Technic/Tekkit, but with two major differences: 1) The mods are updated more frequently, so you don't have to wait, like, a fucking year to get updated mods and updated vanilla base (though, some included mods are testing releases, so bugs are a possibility).  2) Every mod author who's got a mod or mods in the pack has not only given their blessing to the FTB team to include their mods, but are working alongside them and other authors to make them integrate more easily.

Oh, also, FTB doesn't take the "everything including the kitchen sink" approach to mod inclusion that Technic seems to have, so you don't get your game weighed down by a ton of effectively useless mods like MAtmos, Mo' Creatures (though, this one is a bit subjective), or whatever the fuck "Crystal Wing" is, so your game runs more smoothly.

Also, it has an awesome name, lol.

I would say Crysis Warhead is better than Crysis. Unfortunately the the game is quite a bit shorter. Also, I never got the ammo problems I got in the first game. However, the end of the game is damned difficult.
