THAT is a trigger?? (by the way, last count is 67 triggers for disney's frozen). just to be clear: triggers should indeed exist, and even if i don't understand the different sexualities that have popped up like fads recently, i'm sure that there's some good to them (except for non-dysphoric transexuality. that one is too arcane for me. what.) my point is that at some point, special snowflake syndrome is actively going against the greater good. the trans people (who i've respected for years, despite never quite grasping the subtleties of it) are tearing each other apart not because "die cis scum" is vulgar and counterproductive, but because there are special snowflakes calling trans people transphobes. if i was a conspiracy theorist, i'd call those guys sleeper/ double agents!
regarding triggers: i do have triggers based on (1st hand) psychological torture and physical torture (the source of my ptsd, that i'm getting over after years of therapy). i'm far from being the only one. my partner's ptsd is due to minefields and warfare in general. as a combat vet, that's almost expected. now please answer me how tumblr can justify equating these kinds of triggers with sponges?! this is beyond insensitive. truly, they have become the epitome of first world problems. i remember only last year getting called out because i couldn't see the subtle nuance between bi and pansexuality. now, we've got demi-romantic asexuals who are "whorepositive", whatever that means. by trying to outgrow labels, these guys have become hipsters trapped in their own chains of hiptitude, as if having the most cryptic sexuality was a badge of honor and not a cripplingly difficult part of life!
these people make me mad, not because they're high and mighty (that is, at most, grating). no, they make me mad because their opponents read this, laugh, and stockpile verbal ammo against righteous causes.
i no longer affiliate myself with any lgbt or feminist association because i'm too gauche for the lgbt crowd (they can't take a joke they're so sensitive.... with good reason) and the feminists aren't after equality now, but due to the very vocal minority that are radfems are after superiority. this means that two movements who historically have had to fight uphill battles are alienating regular people, and even worse, some long-standing supporters.
i won't talk shit about the movements as a whole, because i try to be a good person and remember that it's only the vocal minority who's a problem. except there are bigots who check out these sjw types and think "it's feast time!" these bigots delight in conflict, especially those sterile conflicts fabricated by tumblrites. it makes me rage that i find more logical arguments on stormfront than in the entirety of this thread! hell, i know it's the worst of social justice, but that does not excuse somebody for wanting a friggin'
genocide yet being immune to criticism because they're a transracial deminorm whatever!
but what do i know, i'm a white presumed cis het male. so, you know, like 45% of the world population... no biggie. i will stop my rant now before saying something that can be truly regretted. like for example that these tumblrites should be ashamed of toughening the issue for real transpeople. the ones who actually are something beside their sexual orientation and their stupid superfluous labels.
