Controversy begot by Maine Lottery Ticket Being Named Sparks
In maine, convenience-store owners concerned that the state lottery wants to re-name and re-brand its scratch-off lottery tickets as “Kwikies.”
One store owner told us that it will be really uncomfortable for his girl behind the register to have guys come in and say “Hey. Give me a Kwikie.”
“It’s highly inappropriate,” Kaylee Constable, one of his employees, added. “[Customers] come in and joke around with me and say, ‘Can I get a Kwikie? I’m only 19, and I have 40- and 50-year-old men saying sexual remarks to me.”

State lottery officials said that the origin of the new name has nothing to do with it, but rather the benefit of buying this ticket is that it is quick, easy and fun.
He added ”that is what an instant ticket is.”
