Much simpler answer: Mjollnir has a constant gravitational mass but varies its inertial mass in response to who is touching it (because magic). So it doesn't have a lot of weight, in the sense of a force pulling it down, but it can have a lot of inertia, meaning it takes enormous amounts of force to move it in any direction.

Skips all the problems of defining a "fixed point".

It is not going to go well in the USA, I am afraid. The Republicans (now the Majority party) are already gearing for battle against net neutrality on the ideological grounds that free capitalism should define the Internet, and that alone will bring the crazies out of the woodwork against net neutrality. As the saying goes, "The Stupid, It Burns."  It will be interesting to watch in the coming year or two. Not to mention, scary. These people are just too stupid to look into the French Nobel Prize winner's work on "the last mile" of internet connection, because he is well, French, and therefore must be socialist (his work is not). And too dumb to realize that capitalism did not build HTML.
