RIP Neil Armstrong, 1930-2012
« on: August 25, 2012, 04:54:54 pm »
From Yahoo News/Associated Press

Quote
Neil Armstrong was a quiet, self-described nerdy engineer who became a global hero when as a steely-nerved pilot he made "one giant leap for mankind" with a small step onto the moon. The modest man, who had people on Earth entranced and awed from almost a quarter-million miles away, died Saturday. He was 82.

A war hero, an aviation and aerospace pioneer, and an all-around good guy.  America has lost one of her greatest.   :'(

RIP Now he's making the biggest leap of all.
Whenever I hear a politician speaking strongly for or against abortion, all I hear is, "I have no idea how to fix the economy!"

One of the precious few celebrities out there who truly deserved his fame. We've lost one of the 20th century's finest.

...Last I checked, the last time a bad person died was Kim Jong Il. Or maybe Bin Laden. Whichever came second.

Regardless, we need a change of pace, how about we kill off, say, Ronald E. Williams or Michael Pearl?

A truly inspirational man. RIP, Armstrong. You'll never be forgotten.
Guys, this is getting creepy. Can we talk about cannibalism instead?

The first man to set foot into the final frontier, who launched an age of discovery more powerful and enlightening than the Renaissance.  Neil Armstrong, brother, may you rest well, and may the dream you helped create never die.

I remember watching you on TV as you stepped off the lander onto the moon and how enthralled I was at this advancement in mankind's progress and exploration.  Thank you for your bravery, your leadership, your savvy, and your quite dignity.  The world has lost a remarkable man.
The heavens convince me there is no god.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. Without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.--Steven Weinberg

Religion can never reform mankind because religion is slavery--Robert G. Ingersoll
