I love how they try to imply that the two issues are somehow linked. Yes, people who support one are likely to support the other, but that's correlation, not causation. I'm personally ambivalent about abortion-on-demand, but I understand the necessity until we can come up with a foolproof method of birth control, such that it will be literally impossible for a woman to get pregnant unless she's trying.

I actually agree with that, sort of, but not their intended meaning of "you should be vegetarian." More like, the line between animals that are pets and animals that are food is arbitrary and pointless. As long as the specific animal you eat was not someone's pet (like stealing a dog for your dinner), more power to you.

"Animals" is an arbitrary choice of reference class, anyway. Vegetarians pick and choose which living beings they are OK with eating, so I do believe I am allowed to do the same. It just so happens that I exclude some animals and they exclude all.

Also, if it came to it, I'd anything, up to and including humans. It's just terribly unlikely that I'll find myself in such a situation.
