Ah, I know this reference. Allow me to explain:

Remeber when during the elections Obama was debating Romney about military budget? Romney complained that the US military has less ships or carriers than it had X years ago. Obama replied by saying that it "also has less horses and bayonets than 100 years ago" but that this did not mean that the military is now weaker than it was 100 years ago. This particular line got pretty popular in some circles. (The Mechwarrior Online closed beta forum in particular was flooded with horses and bayonets memes.)

Maybe that's why there's so much police incidents with the Occupy Movement, not many armed people the police would be afraid of.

Some context on the image (for instance, on what site/page it was seen) would be helpful, but it could be read either as "I'm not going to arrest people for peacefully associating" or "I'm not going to arrest people for carrying guns openly"--and I'm stopping there since just about everyone on this forum has said their piece about the gun issue.

What scares me about that image is that a police officer, someone with the right to carry and use lethal weaponry and enforce the law, subscribes to as black and white a viewpoint as "bad guys". The world is not that simple.

Unless this was in some hick town or New York City, I think so.  If they were Latino or Middle Eastern, on the other hand...
