That said. I suspect a lawyer could doubtlessly wreak some legal system havoc in retaliation for the above food-revenge cases. I could see the above 2 perpetuators of divine justice losing their jobs and become liable for legal retaliation. I am sure there have doubtlessly been real-life examples of these. Not to detract from any of the nice humor in any way, though.

See... I couldn't do that to someone. That kind of thing is on my list of 'not even my worst enemy gets that treatment'. Mainly because you can get badly dehydrated and I'd rather not get in trouble for someone's medical issue I may not know about.

I suspect that this isn't real, but anyway: Doesn't this have the obvious drawback that whoever was stealing your brownies knows your name, is very pissed off, and you just handed them a confession to possession of marijuana? Which, I'm guessing from the mention of drug tests and corporate liability, is likely illegal wherever this took place?

Also, re: previous cooment about laxatives: isn't putting a drug (legal or otherwise) in food you expect another person to consume some manner of crime? Arguably poisoning? And, even if not, still disproportionate retribution.

I don't mean to defend the consumption of other people's food, which is an awfully dickish move, but this is the sort of thing that ends with Ron Burgundy amazed at how quickly it all escalated.

I'm fairly certain that "It wouldn't be a problem if they had followed the law" is not a valid defence, anyone correct me if I'm wrong here. If you expect someone to eat your food, then putting something in it is equivalent to putting it in their food. Hard to prove an expectation, true, but not ultimately relevant.

I'm not sure, because there's no reason they should be eating your food. If someone broke into my house and ate my food, I'd imagine it'd be on them, too.

It's still poisoning someone and is against the law. It doesn't have to nearly kill you based on ingredients alone to be considered poisoning. Putting, say, laxatives in something could cause someone to become badly dehydrated which causes a bunch of Not Good Things to happen and you would be responsible for putting someone in the hospital because you wanted to get revenge and fuck with someone's health.

It's best to just deal with things in a better, safer way that doesn't have a chance of landing you in jail for food poisoning.
