It's not worth anyone's time to contend with ignorance of this magnitude.
I am an old man, and I've seen many problems, most of which never happened.

I'm a Christian and I believe dinosaurs existed.  I also believe in evolution and Event One.  Evidence is evidence, and the evidence points to an old Earth.  Very old.  An even older Universe besides.  That doesn't have to negate the existence of an intelligent designer out there somewhere.   I'm also willing to change my views in lieu of different facts and discoveries, however.

I guess it's needless to say that I would not be considered a Christian by a LOT of other Christians out there.

I couldn't have said this better.

Proof that the presence of religion/spirituality isn't the absence of rational thought.

This whole thread reminded me of this little gem of stupidity:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtU5q4z-xXc" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtU5q4z-xXc</a>

I think I got about 1 minute in before I just had to stop. Its like a huge complicated mess of half thoughts and half statements and downright blatant lies and misinformation and misrepresentation. It actually bugs me that some studio would actually pay money to make something like that. I think what also pains and infuriates me is that this is clearly aimed at children to try and present lies as facts. It is despicable.

They lost me at “so-called prehistoric creatures.”

Do they realize that thier “How do you know? You weren’t there?” argument applies even more so to them?

(fundie) It doesn't apply to us, because God was there and He told everyone what happened in the Bible! (/fundie)

Changed to represent my views. Although I prefer to think that rather than do any actual designing, G-d just set the starting conditions up so that they would produce intelligent life.

Well this is a strange coincidence...

It's just the old chestnut:  Dragons were real, but they were actually what we know today as dinosaurs.  The accounts of dragons in myth and legend are actually referring to dinosaurs that were around the same time as humans.

So all the dinosaurs could fly?  How come their skeletons don't have wings?  Or is that just another cover up by the grand conspiracy of liberal scientists...

Not all dragons flew.

In fact, the most iconic image of the dragon that we have today is relatively modern, the original western dragon is actually closer to a serpent.

That's more or less why the dragon was a serpent with legs.  Because dragons are teh evil and so they must obviously be snakes.

well, duh. The main page is full of quotes to that very effect. You might have to do a search, but they're there in abundance.
