I was discussing unfortunate names with my coworkers today, and one of them had known a guy named Dick Skinner.

I immediately asked if the guy was Jewish.

I have a whole list of unfortunate names I saw from a single company in Oklahoma:

* Daniel Thing
* Lonnie Biggerstaff
* Herman Littlejohn
* Ron Dickerson
*Eric Ladyman

Guys, this is getting creepy. Can we talk about cannibalism instead?

Several of my status updates from the Grammys:

"And the Grammy goes to not Robin Thicke."

"And the Grammy, once again, goes to not Robin Thicke."

"And the Grammy goes to Robin Thicke!

.....just kidding. It's Daft Punk. You bastard."

So I take it that this Robin Thicke knob-end is the new Justin Bieber?

Well, he is the one whose song can be compared to things rapists say. He's what Justin Beiber could be if he tried hard enough.

I meant he's comparable to Bieber in that it's trendy for everyone and their dog to complain about him on the internet.

People complained about Justin Bieber for being a selfish asshole. People complain about Robin Thicke for continuing the existence of rape culture and misogyny.

Oh and suing the estate of Marvin Gaye when it was discovered that Blurred Lines sounds a lot like a Marvin Gaye song.

Ironbite-forget which one.

Sort of comparable in that way. Thicke's too old and lacking in "boyish" looks to be a teen heartthrob, though, so he isn't really getting the "lol he's a girly faggot" treatment. Bieber had haters back when he was still an annoying child star, which made it all the more easy for people to jump on him when he had his inevitable meltdown once he hit adulthood. Not that he doesn't deserve to be called out for being a douche, but it seems that a good chunk of his haters are more of the "love to hate" variety than people who actually care that he's done some pretty shitty stuff. The criticism directed towards Thicke feels a lot more genuine, even if there are threads of pop culture backlash running through it.

Mostly I'm just baffled as to how people can love "Blurred Lines" so much. The beat is catchy (you can thank Marvin Gaye for that), but everything else about it makes the song too silly to listen to.

I saw about 10 seconds of the video clip. I immediately closed the tab when he spelt his name as a hashtag.
