Regardless of whoever the media decides has "won" this debate, this is going to be the most unapologetic display of American jingoism and imperialism in a long time. Can't wait to hear from the guy who thinks we should invade another middle eastern country and the other guy who doesn't want to invade them but will still murder them with drones for looking at us funny. Can't wait to see both candidates furiously compete to see who can suck Israel's dick the best.
No one wins in this debate. Not the American people and not some kids at a bakery in a Pakistani valley
-
Regardless of whoever "wins" I promise not to start fights concerning 3rd party candidates. Girl Scout's honor.

"Foreign policy of the 80's, social policy of the 50's and economic policies of the 20's"
"The 1980s called, they want their foreign policy back."
-Obama, on Romney's policies
SICK BURN
-
A response from tumblr (which is how I follow this):
obama just called out romney on his foreign policy inconsistencies so romney responds with the equivalent of “attacking me isn’t gonna solve our problems”
oh my god
-
Obama blinks ridiculously often. I can't stop watching it.
-
Wait a minute, we're talking about small businesses and jobs now? I thought this was about foreign policy.
-
Oh god damn it Jeb now I can't stop watching either.
-
Jesus, now we're talking about education and the deficit?
Both candidates rightly realize that no one cares about dirty foreigners and switch to talking about what Americans really value: Ourselves.

"We also have fewer horses and bayonets..."
Nice.

I'm in class. Anyone want to give me a quick summary so far?
-
I'm in class. Anyone want to give me a quick summary so far?
Romney's lying and Obama's calling him an idiot and liar.
-
Wow, Obama's hair is getting grey. The office of the presidency ages you but damn, he looks ten years older than he did two weeks ago.
-
...did Romney say he'd indict Ahmadinejad for genocide? Dafuq?
-
I hate how it's impossible for any U.S. politician to do anything other than suck Israel's fat dick.
Fuck Israel.
-
Obama just jumped to Romney's right on the assassination of bin Laden.
-
I hate how it's impossible for any U.S. politician to do anything other than suck Israel and defense contractors' fat dicks.
Fixed.
-
Oh god the moderator said Obama bin Laden...
-
"America has never dictated to other nations?" Seriously? I can't even begin to estimate how many examples per year there are of America dictating by exercising its power. The same power Romney wants to expand and use. Fuck you, Romney.
-
At least Romney was truth and agreed to continue the practice of blowing up brown kids

Mitt Romney: "I like American cars." "I love teachers." How hollow can this man be?
-
I have a feeling there's going to be a SHITLOAD of Romney sayings and Obama burns memes after this debate.
Good god man...
-
After?
They're already making them and getting to the front page of Memebase.
-
Oh god these callers on C-Span are so dumb as shit it's hilarious.
-
Mitt Romney: "I like American cars." "I love teachers." How hollow can this man be?
I love lamp.
-
Also it seems that many people believe that Obama won (http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2012/10/23/instant-polls-say-obama-won-final-debate/) the third and final debate.
-
Obama just jumped to Romney's right on the assassination of bin Laden.
Don't think you are going to find many American voters, right or left, that care.
-
I'm honestly not sure what "To the right of Romney" means in that context.
I didn't watch the debates this time... I tuned in and then kinda just went... "Eh" and tuned out.
-
Obama talked about how he went into Pakistan without asking permission, and the fact that Romney said in the 2008 Republican Primaries that he wouldn't go into Pakistan without permission. The Democrat took the more aggressive, "fuck what foreign countries think, approach."
-
Tweets from Bill Maher....
Mitt's entire debate strategy: What he just said, but from a white guy
To Obama's point, I'm thinking our F-15s could defeat a statistically larger number of Red Barons
Yes yes yes! Hit em with "I wldn't move heaven and earth to get bin Laden" and "I'd ask Pakistan's permission" - Mitt, you were just WRONG!
To clarify, Mitt is for moving heaven and earth, but only in regards to mining
OK Mitt, one more try: we have fewer catapults and barrels of boiling oil than we had in the crusades.
OK, one last try: We have fewer Andrews Sisters and Ritz Brothers than we did in 1944. So glad we're done with THAT!

Ah, that.
I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I'm not sure that quantifies as any direction, left or right. It just... is.
-
Maybe not, but it's a basic hawk and dove thing. Asking for permission to come into a country is ever so slightly more dovish than not going. I find it interesting when candidates or parties end up reversing the expectation of where they should be. On that issue, Obama took the more hawkish, militaristic stance. Thus--interesting.

Right-wing pundits are already jumping on the "horses and bayonets" comment, claiming that the Marines still use bayonets.
Jesus Christ, I can't believe we let these idiots vote.
-
When was the last time a marine strapped a sword to his assault rifle and tell me who since that guy is badass
-
I would actually like to see more guns with bayonets because gunblades are awesome.
-
So since Jill Stein and Rocky Anderson weren't allowed to attend the debates, they held their own instead. (They're not really debating each other as much as they're debating the mainstream candidates.)

And the US Army dropped (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35887730/ns/us_news-military/t/army-training-bayonets-out-ab-blasters/) bayonet training back in 2010.
-
Aye...if you're goin close-quarters, it seems far more prudent to just pull a knife and stab a fucker, instead of taking the time to affix it to your rifle. Much more responsive, that way.

IIRC the bayonet is still used in Australia for training. Jim Dunnigan has a lot of respect for the bayonet, supposedly it is damned good at opening cans and cutting food.

But at that point, it's just a knife. It's not so useful for those things while strapped to the front of a gun. And our troops do get issued combat knives. Ones so sharp and durable, they're illegal for civilians to own.
-
Glenn Greenwald here to remind you that Obama and Romney's foreign policies are pretty much exactly the same.

I see Ann Coulter is still his usual charming self, then.
@AnnCoulter "I highly approve of Romney's decision to be kind and gentle to the retard."

I've been trying to watch these with an open mind, but I really believe Obama won this one. He kept calling Romney on his B.S. over and over (I lost it at the Aircraft Carrier remark!). Funny how Romney kept agreeing with Obama but twisting it to make it sound like his idea all along.
Also, I like how romney boasted about how his state was so far ahead in education, only for Obama to chime in with, "That was before you came into office."
In addition, on CNN, a graph at the bottom of the screen measured the perception of undecided voters. More often than not, it seemed to flatline whenever Romney spoke but jump whenever Obama spoke. I hope that's promising.

Your statement seems to be based off the assumption that she was ever relevant in the first place.

The bayonet thing got me. I had a friend nearby who was watching the debate online. We still use bayonets in the US, but I think Obama was thinking something like this:
Not like modern day knives that can be easily held and detach and attach when needed.
Also, I'm a little worried about Rock Beats Laser (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RockBeatsLaser) in some instances.

Oh noes, the bayonet industry (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/23/obama-offend-bayonet-community-horses_n_2005868.html?icid=maing-grid10%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl1%7Csec3_lnk1%26pLid%3D224387) is all butthurt now!
No word from the horse and buggy industry yet.
