Because it's the Democratic Party who keeps going on about how the Confederacy were totally right.

Actually, he is referring to the democrats in 1861 so the claim isn't completely bullshit:
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Did_democrats_support_slavery
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Democrats

While the democrats in northern US supported Lincoln and the abolition the Southern democrats were pro-slavery and supported secession. Then again south was the main powerbase of the democrat party at the time.

Things have changed in the years since, but since the comic claims that democrats in 1861 were pro-slavery it is reasonably accurate.

Wether or not the support for universal healthcare is based on "I want to live on other people's expense" is entirely different matter.

Which party is the Democrat Party, sorry? I've never heard of them.

The party's name is the Democratic Party. It has been since 1830. Please spell correctly.

Well I guess I did mispell the name of the party. Officially it is the democratic party and not just democrats, but considering that I did provide links with the post which would have cleared up any possible misunderstanding this brings up a question:

Was that an attempt in sarcasm or do you really have problems in understanding written language?

Because in the case of latter it would explain a lot about you.

But just in case it was the first one:

Personally I think the Rush Limbaugh one is one of the dumbest, most offensive political cartoons I've ever seen. Yep, the treatment of Rush is the same as the treatment of those girls who were denied access to a public school in Little Rock. Brilliant.

Actually in the realm of its own stupidity it doesn't even make sense. The National Guard helped that girl get into school, so the artist labels on the Guardsmen means that...Rush Limbaugh was assisted by "True Racism", the "Lib Media" and the "NFL"?

I don't know about the "liberal" media or the NFL, but he's definitely assisted by racism. He spouts so much dog whistle racism the white supremacists probably think they're at obedience school.

Yeah, the cartoon (from a Rome, Georgia paper, I believe, though there are other cities called Rome around the south) should rightly self combust, it is so stoooopid.

The "true racism" meme is a neocon concept that Liberals defend welfare and food stamps and affirmative action and teaching ebonics at schools and subsidized school lunch programs and fuckin' R.I.F. because all liberals are in fact racists who think black people are incapable of thinking and feeding and caring for themselves and their children.
(I have a huge brain ache from writing all that down - ouch!)

added later: Note that the famous Rockwell painting of a little girl being escorted into school was a cover art for The Saturday Evening Post, an extremely popular magazine in it's day. IIRC, Rockwell was nominated for a Pulitzer for that masterpiece of heartening/tear-inducing populist art.

And they wouldn't sell to him because he's a racist windbag.

Quote
Ruby Bridges

Ruby Bridges Hall (born Ruby Nell Bridges September 8, 1954, in Tylertown, Mississippi) moved with her parents to New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 4. In 1960, when she was 6 years old, her parents responded to a call from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and volunteered her to participate in the integration of the New Orleans School system. She is known as the first African-American child to attend an all-white elementary school in the South. She attended William Frantz Elementary School at 3811 N Galvez St, New Orleans, LA 70117.

I thought Rockwell was depicting the Little Rock Nine, too, but his painting was about Ruby Bridges, turns out. U.S. Marshalls escorted her to and from school.

Can someone explain the cartoon? Is he calling Rush a liberal "true racist" or something since he's being escorted into conservatism by those labeled guards?

Okay, I'm feeling brave, so I'll try to ponder it out.

Layer-of-stupid number one; the True Racism (libs think blacks are helpless meme), the NFL and the Lib Media figures

represent the "politically correct" societal/gubmint movements trying to bring Rush to

"integrate" with their heinous politically correct views.

Layer-of-stupid number two; Rush is a helpless innocent being used as a pawn against his will, or is too powerless in

the face of those big scary marshals to do anything about it.

Now, if the cartoonist was trying to show how Rush thinks he is being treated, then the cartoon is hilarious.

Back in 2009 Rush Limbaugh was poised to become the owner of the St. Louis Rams, but then a series of racist quotes from Limbaugh began circulating online--shocking I know. Some of them were unfortunately fake but some, for instance telling a black caller to "take that bone out of your nose and call me back", were real. Limbaugh was then denied a chance to purchase the team and, being the egomaniacal jackass that he is, whined incessantly about how he was being discriminated against by leftist Al Sharpton-types. Which brings us to the cartoon that was done by a conservative cartoonist who 1.) cannot draw for shit and 2.) was absolutely sticking up for Rush. The cartoonist being as dim as he is got his metaphors crossed and labelled the National Guard with all the things he thought hurt Limbaugh: the "liberal" media, the NFL and "true" (i.e. anti-white) racism. It's a stupid cartoon from a stupid person defending an even stupider person.
