Ummm... All I see behind the link is the title, there is no article...

There are links to other articles from the site though.
No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:
"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
Aww, you guys rock. :)  I feel the love... and the pitchforks and torches.  Tingly!

No that's the whole article.  There was a touch of sarcasm in my description.

The American population consists of 313,232,044 people as of July 2011.
At an unemployment rate of 8.3, that means that 25,058,563 are unemployed.
If we just assume that of those 25 million people the 227,000 jot those jobs, then the unemployment rate should have dropped to about 7.9.

I assume the problem here is that while they may have created those jobs, a similar number of people lost their jobs. The articles really does not seem to expand on the issue other than the title.

(My numbers and maths are likely to be entirely wrong, I just used simple percentage calculations. Feel free to correct me.)

You also have to remember that a good amount of that total population is children.  Young people are coming into the workforce every month, which means to reduce unemployment you must create more jobs than there are young people becoming working age.

The U.S. economy added 227,000 jobs last month, while the overall unemployment rate remained steady at 8.3%. At first blush, that may sound discouraging, but the details matter -- the jobless rate remained the same, despite the increase, because "more ponies entered the workforce in search of jobs."

And that's what we want -- it's evidence of a healthier economy.

If we take that analysis, and assume that not only are kids entering the workforce, but those who were previously discouraged are starting to look again and therefore back in the numbers, then things would be good.

Ponies?
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.
