Is there any more about the Squats making a comeback as part of the Tau Empire?

Squats? No, they're still deader than dead. The Tau have the Demiurg, who have existed since GW released Battlefleet Gothic.

So is there any more about the Demiurg then?

Well, you can't take any at least. I haven't seen any fluff about them, but the only Auxiliaries in the book are Kroot and Vespid.

Are they modeled in a way that you could run them as Imperial Guard?

I could, but GW types get really sniffy (read, downright fucking rude) if you turn up with a squat army.

I still want to know why. I mean they offed them, but people still had armies of the stupid things. They can't expect people to just drop all that... ok they do expect people to drop all that money and buy new models.

I mean it's no stupider than some of the grimdark crap they've pulled.

What, like threatening dakkadakka, Lexicanum and Warseer for using the GW logo in relation to 40K?

I took my old Squat army along to a Games Day a few years ago.  To be fair, a lot of the older GW staff were pleased to see them, as were older gamers.  I got a few people around the table as I took on a guy with an Eldar army, we got 5 minutes into the game when some of the GW staff came along and told us to leave the table as "Someone else needed it".  There were empty tables all around us, but apparently someone needed that specific one.  They didn't stop harrassing me until I boxed my army back up.

Huh, maybe I've been spoiled by the local community, but most people I know would have found a Squat army awesome, even if it were just a chance to look at some o the old stuff that GW doesn't support anymore.

The old squats were stupid, but in a good way. A bit like space Orks- just dumb stuff, but hilarious.

Not strictly related, but I've been collecting the black crusade books, and they finally did it. They made a chain hammer. strap the heads of 5 or so chain axes together, attach to large pole, and bang, chain hammer.

You really have to ask why.

For massive damage if I'm reading the stats right. Though probably unsurprisingly it comes out of the book dedicated to khorne.

Yeah, but GW just go OTT with a lot of their stuff, some of it (baneblades,Titans, etc) can be fun, but then you get a new codex with nigh-on ubeatable army and you start wondering if they've ever played any game other than 40K
