I really have to wonder how anyone can spend more than five minutes on the internet and not notice that overt, unabashed racism is still alive and well.

There are a number of ways, though my favourite is simply to take them by surprise. They're just walking down the street, minding their own business when suddenly, WHACK! Penis to the face.

I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

That sure is a large, empty space.

You know, I almost thought that doesn't fit, but on the other hand, what's with radfems who can't handle the fact that other women don't agree with them?

No, radfems, it wasn't you that fought to end the porn industry, it was white, conservative males.

And them trying to do so was considered a Bad Thing by actual feminists.

This reminds me:

I used to really love Sinfest, but for a long time now the "feminism" thingy in it has annoyed me. Really preachy and taking over the plot, it's starting to look like Ayn Rands work with a different ideology.

I don't know what to think about Sinfest. I was never into it, but hearing everyone talk about it, I took a look. Half of the feminism strips I don't understand (like that one--is Sinner Friendly Hell good, & by extension female-friendly porn good or bad?), the other half I don't care about one way or the other. I have no idea what else is going on in the comic, so I can definitely see the "take over the plot" thing, then again, the other half of the plot was fairly inconceivable when I tried to read it from the beginning.

I'm assuming that "sinner-friendly hell" is supposed to be bad, given the "classy, intimate torture" inscription on the sign. The message seems to be that feminist-friendly porn is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Of course, the comic would be stupid either way.

Ah. I thought it might be a BDSM thing, & gave preference to the "classy & intimate" part. Yes, I pictured dominatrixes with tophats & monocles.

Oh, that "blank space" is now displaying.

Yeah, I  interpreted it like Mlle. Squigley is shown going to hell because "watching porn is bad" and the "sinner friendly hell" is supposed to imply that it's just a name and doesn't really mean that hell is any nicer. So the comic basically implies that "female friendly porn" is just a fake attempt to make porn seem nicer, while it's still bad.

But seriously. Even characters that were nice are being made worse for the sole purpose of having "Xanthe the feminist trike girl" beat them up or otherwise emasculate them.

Ah. I thought it might be a BDSM thing, & gave preference to the "classy & intimate" part. Yes, I pictured dominatrixes with tophats & monocles.

Dominatrixes with tophats & monocles actually sounds cool. It could also be a band name.

Yeah, I definitely thought of both interpretations. Just, I guess my mind goes to strange places.

Either way, I just don't see it as being more than a minor annoyance. I have to say, though, it doesn't look like he's (she's? It looks like a male name to me) going to stop any time soon.

Well my problem with it is just that I used to really love the comic but don't like the new direction. There still are strips that I like in it but this preachy thingy is taking more and more of the comic.

Still... It's not MY comic and I can read it for free on the net and I'm not entitled to have the artist obey my every whim while making the comic. So on one hand I don't like the situation on the other hand I feel that complaining about it is really childish. And it's not like I don't like feminism itself. I just disagree on some particulars.

I don't have a problem with complaining. And if something pisses me off enough, then I'll just stop reading it. And still complain about it.
