Huh, well that person strangely also seems to be pro marijuana legalization, as evidenced by the "vote prohibitionists out" bumper. They also seem to be anti seat belt or something. God knows what the "My Dogs Vote & Shop" poster is supposed to represent. Is this person a weird hybrid of Tea Party and Hippie?

Based on the other pro-tobacco-smoking stuff, I assume she means prohibitionists as in smoking bans, not marijuana bans.

It's always been going on to some extent, but I think the Obama presidency at least made them more vocal, even if they didn't actually manage to recruit a lot more.

Then again, considering the casual racism rampant in conservative circles, it wouldn't surprise me if Obama's election either A) brought more closet racists out of the woodwork, or B) made a lot of people realize they WERE racist.

That reminds me.  I think it says a lot about a person if they think that someone voted for Obama to show that they're "not racist" as opposed to just genuinely liking him enough (at least over his opponent) to vote for him.

While it's true that Lovecraft was extremely racist in his early years, his views softened after he had lived in New York and actually been exposed to people other than WASPs. He would still have been considered racist by our standards, but by the end of his life, he was a lot more tolerant.

Hell, sometimes it's not even this civil.  Wasn't there a case a couple of years ago where a militia group broke into a family's home and executed the family because they thought they were "illegals", when in reality they were all registered American citizens?  I remember because the first one they killed was the 9 year old daughter, who answered the door.
