Oh no, dude! Likes do so many wonderful things. Likes stop child labor and animal abuse and spread Christinity and cure diseases and change governments. Likes can and do change the world on a regular basis. Liking something is the single most important thing a person on Facebook can do to make their community a better place.
At least that's what I understand from looking at people's pages.
